Eleven Thirty-Four - Reality Filter (1996)

Eleven Thirty-Four was a screamo-ish metal core band out of southern California. They put out numerous 7in EPs and to my knowledge only this full length. This is angry, intelligent and raw through and through. Anyone who is a fan of early 90s hardcore should definitely check this out.

Torn Apart - 10 Songs For The Bleeding Heart (2002)

"Torn Apart were Baltimore MD's long time heavy hitters in the hard rock arena. Torn Apart's second full length effort, 'Ten Songs for the Bleeding Hearts' took them one step further in their progression. The release followed a year long haitus from touring and writing and the band were anxious to release their new material and unleash their new sound. Refined and honed to a perfect blend of their hardcore roots and the metal music they grew up listening to, they turned some heads in their day and made a lasting impression in their years of travel and work as Torn Apart."

During the recording session which was partly on the tour together with HELLCHILD from japan their singer Tsukasa Harakawa joined Six Reasons To Kill by singing "Unknown Path" together with Christian Valk.
Those recordings finally resulted in the bands' singning to ALVERAN RECORDS. In november 2000 Six Reasons To Kill finished recordings for their 10-song debut CD "Kiss The Demon" which was released in december 2000 by ALVERAN RECORDS. "

Gay For Johnny Depp - Blood: The Natural Lubricant (2005)

Featuring members of US hardcore bands garrison and instruction (amongst others) this a record unlike anything else you will hear this year! the lyrical content may (on the surface at least) concern crude fetishizations of a certain Hollywood actor, but the music is something else: as you'd expect from guys who used to be in Garrison and Errortpye:11, it seamlessly lurches between agressive, inventive hardcore riffs and melodic intermissions...heavy, emotive, and with a sense of humour.

Heavily influenced by New York's Suffocation, so much that the greatest criticism of this band would be a "Suffocation clone," Pyrexia are a sure way of getting your heart pumping. The blasting drums and relentless guitar work on "Sermon of Mockery" is very well crafted, a sign of professionalism that is used today. While the style is dependent on speed/death on adrenaline, Pyrexia can be sublinear and forthcoming to future brutality.

Upheaval - Downfall of the Ascendancy of Man (1997)

Upheaval continued Eulogy's early attack of metallic hardcore. Upheaval is a Vegan-Straight Edge band hailing from Indianapolis, IN. Their blend of Black metal and hardcore is often imitated, but almost never done to the same level that Upheaval was able to reach. Many listeners considered their political outlook extreme, but it was that straightforward attitude that drew in so many. Upheaval's Eulogy release ''Downfall of the Ascendancy of Man'' remains a favorite of many.

From Here On - Hope For A Bleeding Sky (1999)

"Recorded in 1999 and originally released in 2001 as a limited edition of 700 copies, this album became a much sought after commodity. The demand was not only based on the fact that From Here On were one of the most promising bands to surface within the North Carolina hardcore scene, but vocalist, Tommy Rogers, has since gone on to front the immensely popular band, Between The Buried And Me. From Here On were a socio-political, vegan SxE band who were way ahead of their time. Their one and only release, "Hope For A Bleeding Sky" was recorded in a single day (yes, ONE day) and still is as crushing now as it was back in 1999 hence the overwhelming demand for us to re-issue it now. If you like your hardcore chock full of floor crashing breakdowns and melodic death metal then From Here On is must for your collection."

Drift - Stalkin' Like Killers (2002)

Imagine Drift as Europe's answer to Mushmouth. The vocals are extremely harsh. The frontman sounds like he has throat cancer. Musically, it's a bunch of chunky chords and tons of breakdown parts, with a hint of melody. Think back to the early to mid 1990s when bands like Earth Crisis had just put "Destroy the Machines" or "Breed the Killers". That's Drift.

These heavy rock warriors deliver blow after punishing blow of unbelievably heavy, rocking old-school death metal on their first ever recording Weight of the Wound. If death and roll went horribly right, Weight of the Wound would be its Reign in Blood. Jaws - Slow Motion Suicide (2006)

In a relatively short period of time, JAWS has beached itself on the pristine, clean and safe shoreline that is the Perth hardcore scene. Instead of maintaining the natural order of this environment, JAWS has disposed of all driftwood, plankton and bottom feeders to assume it's rightful place at the top of the food chain. Feel the strength of early 80's harDCore as it snaps your leg rope. Witness the savagery of biting 70's Rock and Roll as it hacks your board to chunks. Watch in horror as your legs, and your ties with the fashioncore scene, float out to sea. With a demo soon to wash up on shore and a temporary migration to colder waters sometime later, let JAWS be a fitting reminder for you to wear your floaties, to swim between the flags and to stay off my wave!

In their few years of existence Embrace Today evolved from a commendable youth crew hardcore inspired unit into one of the hardest hitting monsters in contemporary Boston hardcore. The Spudmonsters - Moment Of Truth (1997)

"The Spudmonsters put on an amazing show and the amount of energy the entire band put forth was more than impressive. To my knowledge they were really only known in Cleveland and surrounding areas, and were huge in Europe. I think the poor name and lack of US touring / CD distribution might have discouraged kids from checking them out and man did a lot of people miss out. The band has a heavy mix of Cro-Mags, M.O.D., meets early Biohazard influence to them. In fact many different members of the Spudmonsters went on to play in bands such as: Run Devil Run, Biohazard, Pro-Pain, Bloodclot, Among Thieves, FVK, & Sons of War."
